Meet Orange County Tutor Diana

My name is Diana and I am a Kaplan tutor in Orange County, California!

Q: What’s the funniest or oddest thing a kid has ever said to you?

A: One of my kindergarten students thought my name was “Kaplan” for several weeks… He would say to his mom, “When is Kaplan coming today?”

Q: What’s your favorite kids’ book?

A: “The Giving Tree” by Shel Silverstein

Q: Tell us about something you really enjoy teaching:

A: I love teaching beginning algebra. Kids get so excited about being a detective and figuring out what the variable is! My students have really enjoyed this learning process and feel like it is a skill they can understand.

Q: Any fun facts you’d like to share?

A: I climbed an active volcano, went scuba diving and owned a motorcycle, all while teaching English in Indonesia for three years!
